Hey Rachel - A Life Update

Hi everyone, and welcome back to Rachel's Records!

I know, it has been quite some time that I've posted - apparently all the music I'm listening to and all the shows I've been going to have finally caught up to me and I realized I don't actually have as much time as I thought to write about all the places I go and everything I listen to. Oops!

With that being said, I promise I will be getting to all of the fun stuff I've been up to. For instance, I started college this past week (yikes!). But before that, I had some amazing opportunities like going to Panic! at the Disco, Love Never Dies, and Hairspray. Plus, I've lined up some amazing albums to review like Florence + the Machine's High as Hope, and With Confidence's Love and Loathing. But you don't need me to review them for me to say that you should definitely go listen to both of those albums, because they are truly phenomenal.

This, of course, all comes with time. College is so weird because I have lots of time, but at the same time I definitely don't. It's really weird. But I love getting to write about all of my favorite things for the few of you who read this, and I would love suggestions as well! I might be limiting how much I post, maybe twice a month, or even once a month, but I love getting to have my own place to write and review and nerd out. So thank you all for sticking with me the last few months as I've started the blog, and as it hopefully continues to grow.

With me figuring out my schedule in the next couple weeks, I figured I'd leave you with a few things that you can guys can try out:

Atlas: Space by Sleeping at Last: One of my favorite study albums, and Sleeping at Last is one of my favorite artists, truly. Each song is a different planet, and it is such a chill album to have play in the background or for a long drive through the night. I would recommend listening to this during your study sessions, a quiet time, or when you're winding down at the end of the day. It's such a beautiful concept album and so peaceful after a long day.

Without Words: Synesthesia by Bethel Music: Another great study album (just because I've been really into that lately, with college and all). It's all worship music but done instrumentally, and it's incredibly chill and also very peaceful while you're having your daily quiet time or studying. If you're into instrumental music while studying, this album gives you something modern and upbeat if you're looking to change it up, and it might introduce you to some fantastic worship songs you may have never heard before.

And finally, my 'Current Favorites' playlist for you all, which you can follow on my Spotify, @racheljeanette_! It has not been updated in awhile, but this is the majority of it is all stuff I would listen to now. It usually has a mix of new releases of artists I like, or old songs that I discovered. I hope you enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed my little life update, and some of my new music suggestions! Photo again by my lovely friend @kfourphotography on Instagram. Always feel free to message me with new ideas for posts and recommendations for music! Until then, thanks for stopping by Rachel’s Records, hope to see you again sometime! x
